Paper registration packets can also be picked up in the Main Office of each school or at the Registrar’s Office located at Emerson Junior Senior High School between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
All completed packets and required documents must be returned to the office of the Registrar, at the Jr. Sr. High School located on Main Street.

Entrance Ages
According to district policy, eligibility ages are as follows:
Preschool Disabled - A child is eligible for entrance into a program of special education who has attained his/her third birthday and has been found by the Child Study Team to be eligible for a program for the preschool disabled in accordance with rules of the State Board of Education. (For additional information please visit our Special Services Department.)
Pre-Kindergarten – A child is eligible for entrance into pre-kindergarten who has or will have attained the age of four years by October 1 of the year in which entrance is sought. Our pre-kindergarten program is a half-day program with a morning and afternoon session open to all Emerson students. A limited number of full-day pre-kindergarten spaces are available for tuition students. The lottery for these spaces takes place in February of each year.
Kindergarten - A child is eligible for entrance into kindergarten who will have attained the age of five years on or before October 1 of the year in which entrance is sought. Our kindergarten program is a full-day program from 8:40-3:10.
Registration Process
Step 1: Review Student Enrollment Information.
Step 2: Complete all online registration forms for enrollment. Forms can be submitted via Genesis through “Pre-Registration” LINK. If you would like access to the paper form, contact the Registrar’s Office at Emerson Junior-Senior High School or the Main Office at the school your child will attend.
Step 3: Complete required paper forms with signatures and return to the Registrar or Main Office.
Original Birth Certificate or Passport (may be uploaded in Genesis or brought in person)
- Health information, immunization records, and completed physical form (must be on paper)
- Individual Education Plan IEP (if applicable) or 504 Plan (may be uploaded in Genesis or brought in)
- Custody documents for parents residing separately (if applicable)
- Student Records Request Form Grade K through Grade 12 (must be signed, may be uploaded to Genesis)
Step 4: Verify your residency with our Registrar. This typically happens in person either at a February registration event or else by appointment later in the year.
For recent Home Purchase:
- Home Purchase Closing Document and Transfer of Deed AND
- a recent utility bill AND
- one item mailed to the Emerson address must be provided within 14 days of registration (examples; phone bill, bank statement, cable bill)
For existing Home Owners:
- Provide recent tax bill from the Borough of Emerson AND
- a recent utility bill AND
- one item mailed to the Emerson address must be provided within 14 days of registration (examples; phone bill, bank statement, cable bill)
For Tenants:
- Lease and Notarized Landlord Affidavit AND
- a recent utility bill AND
- one item mailed to the Emerson address must be provided within 14 days of registration (examples; phone bill, bank statement, cable bill)
Step 5: For High School Athletes Only
- Athlete Medical Eligibility Form (signatures required, may be uploaded in Genesis or sent as paper copy)
- Athlete Physical Exam Form (for your provider)
- Athletes with Disabilities Form
- Student Athlete Residency Affidavit (if you are currently or have been a participant in a Varsity sport)
